Hope doesn’t always spring eternal!

The worst thing about an ANC government in South Africa is that it appears we are stuck with them!

George Orwell’s novel “Animal Farm” gave birth to the oft-repeated affirmation that equality is an admirable aspiration but that it is virtually unattainable. Some are more equal than others, it was implied.

It’s all about “human resources” in South Africa, declares Sunday Times columnist Hillary Joffe. (25.10.20). (Or “capacity”, as the ANC calls it!) This is a truism acknowledged by many for hundreds of years in this part of the world.

Forty years ago, a man called Robert Mugabe won an election in what had been a very-well run British colony called Rhodesia, in south-central Africa. He had come to power through sheer terror, mostly against the rural poor in his country, with assistance from the Chinese and Soviet communist regimes.

TLU SA warns all farmers in the country to be alert and to take the necessary precautions against people who want to enter their farms to create unrest.

South Africa is a country of polarities in close juxtaposition, and nothing reflects this situation more than the plight of commercial farming in South Africa.

Destruction, thy name is African National Congress!  Disintegration, degradation, decay and denial are the hallmarks of this organisation which the world hailed as the saviour of South Africa.

South Africans anxiously ponder what their future will be under an ANC government that claims it will be in power forever. In essence, this regime has managed to stay in power since 1994 for two crucial reasons – firstly, the state’s welfare payment to eighteen million people every month and, secondly, the bogey man of apartheid which is parroted relentlessly by the ANC during pre-election periods.

Television’s extensive coverage of South Africa’s violence and looting spree that exploded before an incredulous world over the past few weeks has been a turning point for the African National Congress (ANC): its gilded image of idealistic revolutionaries on a high moral ground bravely fighting a wicked racist system took something of a beating as hordes of its followers trampled our country into the ground in the rush to grab something – anything – because it was there!

State job ads are just window dressing- TLU SA has for years highlighted the connection between South Africa’s descent into possible candidacy for “failed statehood”, and the deployment of cadre appointees to government jobs, without regard to their suitability for the post.
