Do not fall in - always stand out.

South Africa's agricultural sector thrives due to mechanization and improved seed genetics, with no import duties on tractors (HS code 8701.9) to keep essential equipment affordable, as the country does not produce them. Despite trade war confusion, tractor sales rose 35% year-on-year in March 2025 (671 units), and combine harvester sales increased 42% (37 units), driven by positive sentiment from a strong 2024-25 harvest and favorable weather. The 2024 sales dip resulted from a market correction after high sales from 2020-23, a 2023-24 drought causing a 23% drop in summer grains and oilseed production, and high interest rates.

Braaihoenderproduksie is nou 21,2 miljoen per week (vs. 20,3 miljoen in 2023). Eierpryse daal stadig, terwyl braaihoenderpryse stabiel bly weens invoer en swak ekonomie.

The Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced fuel price adjustments effective 7 May 2025, driven by lower global oil prices despite a slightly weaker rand. Brent crude oil prices fell from $71.04 to $66.40 due to US tariffs, trade wars, and an OPEC+ decision to increase production, raising recession concerns and reducing fuel demand. The rand depreciated to an average of 18.8382 against the US dollar, increasing basic fuel prices by 29.13–30.34 c/l. However, fuel prices will decrease due to lower oil prices, partially offset by a 3 c/l increase in the carbon fuel levy.

CRA MEDIA - Actions speak louder than words. So, focus on winning through your actions rather than trying to win an argument. You need to think long-term if you want to maintain power. However, an overlooked threat—Fusarium fungus, particularly Fusarium ear rot in maize—could disrupt these rosy projections.

Summary of Ethanol Blending Policies and Impacts in Africa -Policy Trends: African countries are increasingly mandating ethanol blending in gasoline (e.g., Nigeria allows 5–20% blends, Ghana targets 20% by 2030, Malawi promotes 10% blends, Uganda started 1% in 2024 aiming for 20%) to reduce carbon emissions, stabilize fuel prices, and support local agriculture.

South Africa saw significant growth in its beef exports last year, with cumulative exports increasing by 30% from 2023, reaching 38657 tonnes, 57% of which was fresh beef and 43% frozen.
